The Alliance of North American Chinese Physicians’ (ANACP) hosted the Annual Meeting at the Marriott Houston Medical Center in Houston, TX from November 2 to November 4, 2018. ANACP’s mission is support North American Chinese physicians through education, knowledge exchange and community service. This event brought practicing physicians in North America and other regions together in the opportunity for community outreach and education.
MDLand International was one of the companies in attendance. They deliver one of the major EHR platforms in NYC. Their iClinic EHR connects providers, clinics, medical centers, labs, pharmacies, radiology facilities, public health agencies and registries across the U.S. In summary, they are a leading health information technology company. Provided products are cloud-based certified electronic health records, practice management systems, clinical connectivity and integration, and population health platform to practices and healthcare organizations.
The healthcare landscape has turned from fee-for-service to fee-for-value. MDLand’s co-founder and Sr. Vice President, Mr. James Long spoke at the event. The discussion covered the best practices to improve reimbursement and quality management for the new value-based payment programs. James discussed how providers can leverage their EHR infrastructure. Physicians can apply various digital technologies to optimize workflow, engage patients to close the care gap and improve the overall population health management. Ultimately, the aggregation of data, risk stratification of populations and coordination of care through the Population Health, Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Chronic Care Management (CCM) modules would better place patient outcome at the center of quality of care. This drives better health and saving lives.
In addition, this year’s annual meeting was held alongside with American Association of Chinese Rehabilitation Physicians (AACRP) and the Chinese American Neurological Association (CANA). Consequently, it provided the time and opportunity for cohesive, shared, and mutual learning and growth. It also promoted the wellbeing and professional development of its members through the exchange of medical frontier knowledge. There were over 300 participants who attended the meeting.
